Voluntary Tree Warden

Sandwich Voluntary Tree Warden - helping to promote and protect trees in the area.

Today there are many thousands of trained Voluntary Tree Wardens in local networks throughout the UK, forming a volunteer force of immense value to the environment. Together, they devote nearly two million volunteer hours a year to trees - time worth about £13 million.

What the Voluntary Tree Warden for Sandwich can achieve very much depends on the support from Sandwich residents.

The voluntary Tree Warden for Sandwich role includes:

• helping find the money to fund local tree planting projects

• looking for opportunities to plant more trees in our community

• protecting trees by reporting on early signs of pests, disease and vandalism

• getting involved in campaigns to raise awareness about the importance of trees

• gather information, survey and record information about trees important for wildlife or heritage in our area

• being a contact and support for all things tree-related in our local area; including reporting on trees that are subject to a tree or planning application with the local authority

If you are interested in helping Nicky Warden the local tree warden please contact her via email or on Facebook.
