If you enjoy live music, drama or art of any kind why not volunteer and become part of the diverse and friendly groups of people making it all happen.  Sandwich and the surrounding villages are the home of a surprising number and variety of festivals and voluntary arts and events organisations.

To become a valued part of one of these or another local arts organisation you do not have to be a talented musician, actor or artist, you just have to be keen and willing to help.  Most organisations are just as likely to be looking for volunteer support staff as they are artistic staff.  The available roles are likely to include stewards, workforce, making props, box office, publicity, social media, website maintenance, fundraising and general administration.  If you prefer to get up there on the stage many music and drama organisations are also looking for new members of all ages to join their teams of potential performers.

Whatever your age and circumstances volunteering with a local arts or community organisation can fill a gap.  It can help you gain work experience, help develop a hobby or keen interest, enable you to meet new likeminded people, keep your mind and body active, help preserve our traditions and heritage or just be something you enjoy doing.
